Welcome to Treehouse Fiber and Paradise Valley Alpaca Ranch
My Philosophy and Journey
I had the good fortune to live my dream. I bred grand champion alpacas for 20 years. I kept my herd small so I have time daily with each alpaca. After 20 good years I found it necessary due, to health issues, to move off the mountain top. I decided on Niwot, a small friendly town between Boulder and Longmont. After downsizing the herd I sent a small herd to the Ridgway Ranch with my son. Going from a 3500 sq ft home and studio to 1500 was a challenge. I converted a oversized 2 car garage into a fabulous studio. The studio is now open. I have been dyeing silk for the past 18 years to incorporate with alpaca and merino to make 1 of a kind fiber clothing. Felting is my passion. I look forward to creating more one of a kind garments this winter.
This summer I added marbling on water. It has been great fun having an interactive activity where people can find their own inner artist making scarves and bandanas.
I continue to have luscious alpaca yarns blended with merino, silk and/or bamboo in natural colors and hand.
I look forward to teaching classes to young and old alike.
